The local Limerick businesses you need to visit this Small Business Saturday

With the festive season looming, there can be a serious amount of junk to get your head around when buying gifts and catching up with mates and family.  With days like Black Friday and Cyber Monday crying out for us to throw our cash around, it can be hard to see past the craziness and saturation of it all. We at LEAF are fonder of the kinder and more chilled out cousin of Cyber Monday and Black Friday – Small Business Saturday which takes place this Saturday, November 30th.

Taking that into consideration, we decided to put a list together of our favourite small businesses in Limerick – the hometown of LEAF to showcase the super talent that we have in our beautiful city! Whether you’re looking for a release from all the mayhem, want to pick up a gift or need to catch up with friends, we’ve picked out some of our favourite local spots that tick all the boxes!

Entertainment

Pharmacia, 8 Sarsfield St

A Limerick nightlife staple that still manages to keep its small business charm, Pharmacia has tantalizing cocktails, a buzzing atmosphere and a stellar program of gigs twice a week.

101101 O’Connell St

101 offers six varying bars under one roof with the aim of keeping a speakeasy vibe throughout. They also host an array of events with local collaborators giving it that local business feel.

The Commercial, 46-47 Catherine St

With quirky and cosy décor, The Commercial and it’s Basement double up as both a funky Irish pub and a venue for comedy, music and cultural events. The atmosphere is vibrant but chilled out – perfect for an intimate pint and a gig.

Sextons, 91 Henry Street

Craft beer, delicious wood fire pizza and endearing surroundings, Sextons is a venue that is well – deserving of support in Limerick.

A gallery with the specific aim of promoting the work of Irish artists, Normoyles is one of Limerick’s more recently opened small businesses and showcases new Irish talent.

Cafes

A sustainable, eco – friendly and quirky café that serves Cloud Picker coffee as well as work by local artists such as jewellery and cards. Duo is always keen to support other local Limerick businesses too which makes them that little bit extra special!

Story

Beautiful Brunches and coffee and a chilled atmosphere, Story is a co-owned business by Rene and Vedran. We’re always particularly impressed by the service in Story!

Green Onion

Delicious homemade breads and treats that can be made to order, great coffee and lovely staff, Green Onion is a Limerick small business worth making a regular stop to!

Café Aroma

Another Limerick small business with great owners, and cute exterior and interior, Café should definitely be a stop off on Small Business Saturday!
